BUDHA'S & JOEL JACOBSON (from My Mother's Blog)

My husband Joel has Lukemia, he has gone through all possible treatments and now we are waiting. So while we wait my son Doug, the Budhist told me his friend Tanot and the Monks from Thailand were coming to Encino and they would give Joel, the Orthodox Jew, a special blessing!! You can just imagine how excited Joel was, of course living with me has softened him up just a tad! I am not sure what made him agree to it, with of course, certain stipulations; He would not listen or talk to them and he may not even take his shoes or hat off, his gorgeous black curly hair is gone because of chemo,so he wears a baseball hat. As we walked into the house where the Monks were staying he did take his shoes off and he did enter the living room and he did cross his arms tightly around himself..but then a miracle, he sat cross legged on the floor and then when the #1 monk pointed to him and looked at him with his shining eyes he crawled forward and actually allowed the Monk to bless him..afterwards, we decided "like chicken soup it can"t hurt!"

Luckily I have the whole thing on video and will upload it soon for all to witness.

Not only did he crawl over, he kneeled before them with head bowed. A big deal for a Jew.

He looked a great deal like Jim Carrey portraying Andy Kaufman as he went to the Phillipines to consult a "psychic surgeon".

You've left out some pertinent information, the dousing us with water, the blessing of the six-pack of bottled water, etc. Is he drinking some of it? Are you splashing some on him as he takes a bath or shower?
