I've got to move on, My life as the Widow Jacobson just does
not fit!

Last night I went to a charity for My Bereavement group called "A Musical Celebration of the Soul." I have never seen so many face lifts gone bad in my life! Remember the movie "What Happened to Baby Jane, well I now know! I went to the Musical with some of the people from my group, I, being the youngest and the only person with all my original parts drove. first we had dinner, that went just fine, except when it cam to paying the bill, Roberta the Annoying didn't feel that she should have to pay for Carol's two wines and my martini, after all she only had water, Louise didn't know what anyone had as she is nearly deaf. I miss my husband.
I am very social now, I am out with friends more than I ever
was with Joel. As an example last weeks schedule was: Tuesday evening Book Club, Wednesday evening Sushi with Bobbi & Meryl,
Thursday the Opera with Dorie and George Maharis(yes, that
george from Route 66),Friday coctails at my new Real Estate
office, Saturday dinner with my dinner group, Sunday dinner with Marcia and Bruce. [read more]

My husband Joel has Lukemia, he has gone through all possible treatments and now we are waiting. So while we wait my son Doug, the Budhist told me his friend Tanot and the Monks from Thailand were coming to Encino and they would give Joel, the Orthodox Jew, a special blessing!! You can just imagine how excited Joel was, of course living with me has softened him up just a tad! I am not sure what made him agree to it, with of course, certain stipulations; He would not listen or talk to them and he may not even take his shoes or hat off, his gorgeous black curly hair is gone because of chemo,so he wears a baseball hat. I looked in the mirror this morning and I said "who is this FAT woman!" as we say in L.A. oooh myyy goddd!*!* I must go on a diet..Now which one. How about the Atkins diet, on this diet you can eat 6 eggs with 4 pieces of cheese and a pound of bacon.. and as a snack a 16 ounce porterhouse, but no carbs! No this won't work, because I have high colesterol, which means no, eggs, bacon or cheese. Next the South beach diet, you can eat everything except in the first few weeks no Carbs, so how can I have a sandwich, "a turkey sandwich, please, with russian dressing, lettuce and tomatoes, hold the bread!" No that won't work either. Okay then how about weight watchers diet, a very well rounded diet you can eat every thing as long as you count the points, I get 25 points per day..listen, I can't even keep my check book straight much less points on a diet! Now someone told me about the Beverly Hills diet, I am not sure what this is, but I think you walk around Rodeo Drive and get sick looking at the size one women! On the other hand it's Saturday, so I will begin dieting starting on Monday! [read more]
